Dupity sits in the mountains of the Nord region of Haiti. I had the opportunity to document a medical mission to Dupity and the surrounding villages in the winter of 2018. Inspite of the generations of political unrest, corruption and global neglect and exploitation, the people of Dupity hold the embers of hope in their hearts. Clean water is scarce, medical supplies and medicine are hard to come by, and employment opportunities are sparse out in the mountains, but there is a powerful sense of love for themselves, their family and their community. Through this love, a richness in life manifests itself and a determination to overcome and faith in God help to bring meaning in life.
